Before I wrote fiction, I wrote for national and regional publications. I also have written two nonfiction books, so I have a lot of experience with interviewing – I think that’s one of the reasons I LOVE interviewing my author friends!
So…are you ready for a chance to win a book from another awesome author? I am excited to have Author Carol Ann Erhardt visiting with us today and talking about her book Trapped…
Summer Grant is on the run when her car tumbles down a mountain leaving her TRAPPED in Havens Creek. With a broken leg and no transportation, she is forced to accept the hospitality of strangers. Staying with the police chief’s sister and five-year-old daughter in an isolated mountain home might be the ideal place for her to hide until she can get back on her feet. A father, grieving from his only son’s death…a death Summer blames her for…isn’t far behind. Danger is drawing nearer and the target isn’t just Summer. Book one in the Havens Creek Series – an inspirational romantic suspense novel.
Another book I’ll have to add to my TBR pile – doesn’t this book just sound SO good? Now, let’s take a moment to visit with Carol…
What was the inspiration behind your latest book? A newspaper article! After reading about a terrible school bus accident in Illinois, my heart was heavy. I kept thinking how awful it would be as a bus driver to know that a child died when you were behind the wheel. That feeling wouldn’t go away. And when something keeps tapping  on my heart, the best way to deal with it is to write about it…with God’s help.
So true, Carol! Speaking of books, what is your favorite book in the Bible? Wow! So many and for different reasons. But I think my favorite is Genesis. That’s where it all began. And that’s where God made his promise that through Abraham all believers would be blessed! There are so many wonderful stories in Genesis.
If you suddenly were given one million dollars to start a new charity, what type of charity would you launch and why? If the Lord blessed me with a million dollars to bless others, I would start a charity to help house the homeless. Entire families are losing their homes and being forced to stay in shelters. So many people are suffering with the state of the economy. Especially our Veterans. These brave men marched off to give everything to protect our freedom. They deserve to live someplace beside in tent cities.
Carol, I love your idea for a new charity. That is something that is definitely needed and such a worthwhile cause! So tell me, what project(s) are you currently working on? I’m currently working on the second book in the Havens Creek series. The secondary character, Becca, deserves her happily ever after!
Ooh, that sounds like an awesome book! As most readers know, I love books that are part of a series! And lastly, Carol, How can readers connect with you?

Carol,
Your book sounds so awesome! I would love to read it. It got my attention pretty fast, plus I love reading books based on true stories.
Hi Sharon, I’m glad you are intrigued by my book. The book wasn’t really based on a true story, though. The event just touched my heart. That’s when I began thinking about how a person would go about forgiving themself for a tragedy where they really had no control, but where a child was killed. The story is fictional. I am so happy to meet you and hope you win!
Great interview ladies! Carol, your book Trapped sounds very intriguing! I am definitely going to put in on my to-read list!

I enjoyed the interview. I thought it was interesting that you selected Genesis as your favorite book of the Bible. I do understand your reasoning for selecting it. It is hard to pick just one isn’t it? I do love the book of “Ruth”.
Blessings to both of you!

Hi Judy! I do love Genesis. Love the stories of Abraham and how he made the same mistake of using Sarah to save his own skin not just once but twice! And Sarah giving up hope and letting Abraham have a son through Hagar. Boy, did she regret that when the old jealousy crept in. Oh, and God then blesses them, imperfect people, with a son in their old age. Then he tests Abraham by telling him to offer Isaac up as a sacrifice! Oh, such suspense!
But each book of the Bible is rich in stories. It’s my favorite reading material.
I hope you win a copy of Trapped! Wishing you the best of luck.
