Thank you, Deborah, for being my guest and for always being an encouragement to others! Please tell us about your book. My newest book: “Beatitudes: How to Live a Blessed Life” is a Daily-Bible-Reading study of The Beatitudes. It is a very short book of only four lessons, but they are powerful lessons from the mouth of Jesus. Beatitudes was first published as four individual lessons in Living Better at 50+ Online Magazine. Mrs. Carol Duvall encouraged me to write Beatitudes when we were discussing the options of some Bible Studies I could do for her magazine. I love “Beatitudes” because it is both inspiring and challenging. It is a great guideline for life. I hope you all enjoy reading it.

I agree, Deborah, the Beatitudes are definitely a great guideline for our lives and I’m thrilled that you have written about them in your new book. So tell me, what is the inspiration behind your books? I love studying the Bible and sharing it with others. I also write a blog where I share Bible studies, but I wanted a way to share them permanently and with more people from all over the world. My desire is to “Share God’s Word” with the world through my books and blogs.

Speaking of books, what is your favorite book in the Bible and why? This is a hard question for me because there are so many books in the Bible that I love. I love the story of Ruth, in The Book of Ruth, and that is why I chose it to be my first book in the Daily-Bible-Reading Series called: “The Book of Ruth: A Story of Love and Redemption.” I also love The Book of Esther, and enjoyed studying it and writing my book: The Book of Esther: A Story of Love and Favor. I love the sovereignty and timing of God displayed in Esther.

Surprisingly, I really enjoyed studying The Book of Ezra, and will be publishing it soon. Another of my favorites is The Book of Matthew. I did a study of The Life of Jesus Christ, which I will be publishing one day. I just published a small portion of Matthew in the book: “Beatitudes: How to Live a Blessed Life.” I told you this is a hard question for me. I also very much enjoy the books in the New Testament written by Paul.

If you were suddenly given a million dollars to start a new charity, what charity would you start and why? My first commitment in my ministry is “Sharing God’s Word” so I would like to do something where I could share the gospel throughout the world. It may involve sending Bibles around the world.

Another thing that is strong on my heart and mind is a mission for single Mom’s or something for Teens in crisis, specifically something like Day Break Crisis Pregnancy Center. I have seen how these issues can affect a person’s life for the long term and know that they need help physically, emotionally, and spiritually to deal with the issues in their lives.

I would also like to sponsor something like a food pantry and clothing distribution for those who are less fortunate or are going through tough times.

I am not sure where God wants me to go with my ministry at this point. I am taking it one day at a time. I am praying about what He wants me to do and whatever it is I want to be in His will and doing what He wants me to do. I always want to have His blessings on my life and my ministry.

So true, Deborah, that when we surrender our lives to Him, He leads and guides us.
